BECOME A WINGMAN!!! The Pensacola Ice Flyers are near the first drop of the puck for the 2011-2012 regular season. The Ice Flyers have declared this season as the "Year of the Wingman." By purchasing 2011-2012 Season Tickets, whether it is a Full, Half, or 7 Game Flex Package, you become a Wingman of the Ice Flyers. Col. Francis "Gabby" Gabreski, an early Air Force pioneer who is credited with 28 aerial victories in WWII, was quoted in an article on the official Air Force site titled "What makes a wingman?" His quote paints a picture of the support the Ice Flyers are looking for out of every Wingman. "The wingman is absolutely indispensable. I look after the wingman. The wingman looks after me. It's another set of eyes protecting you. That's the defensive part. "Offensively, it gives you a lot more firepower. We work together. We fight together. The wingman knows what his responsibilities are and knows what mine are. Wars are not won by individuals. They're won by teams."
