Tim Kerr is beginning his third season as the owner of the Pensacola Ice Flyers and his first as the owner of the Mississippi Surge the defending President Cup Champions. Tim was also re-elected as the Chairman of the Board of Governor's for the SPHL for the second consecutive year. During his first term as an owner in Pensacola, Tim was very successful managing the organization in 2 seasons; 2003-04 & 2004-05 to an impressive 91-39-14 record making the Kelly Cup Playoffs both seasons and securing the Brabham Cup in 2004-05 with 51 wins, a major accomplishment considering the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan. This perseverance and dedication, the cornerstone of Tim's career earned him the Honor of becoming Pensacola's Sports Associations "Sportsman of the Year".
During his very successful 13 year career in the NHL, 11 of them with the Philadelphia Flyers, Tim accumulated numerous honors & recognitions. Tim still holds the NHL record for most Power Play goals in a single season (34) during the 1985-86 season, he was also awarded the Bill Master ton Trophy for dedication & sportsmanship for the 1988-89 season. The Philadelphia Sportswriters Association recognized Tim as the most courageous athlete in 1992 by awarding him the Sog Grauley Memorial Award. The Philadelphia Flyers inducted Tim into their Hall of Fame in 1994.
After retiring from hockey, Tim began a very successful business career with his realty company "Power Play Realty" located in Avalon, NJ. He has held his NJ Real Estate License since 1988, and also carries licenses for insurance & securities. Tim is also President of TK Charities which he specifically created to raise funds for physically and mentally challenged children, holding several events every year for this great cause.
Tim is very excited to be part of the SPHL and hopes his broad experience in hockey and business can be an added asset to the league, and the development of young players. Since joining the SPHL in 2009 and becoming Chairman of the Board of Governors in 2010, Tim has seen the league expand all 3 season's and is very pleased with the hard work and dedication of Commissioner Jim Combs and is excited about the future of the SPHL.
Greg has played hockey at the college level and has coached Junior 'A' hockey in Canada. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, double majoring in International Business and Finance. After working at a Canadian investment firm, he changed his direction to follow his entrepreneurial roots in the health care industry in Canada with businesses he continues to operate.
Greg and the Harris family were looking to get involved in an ownership capacity in the SPHL when an opportunity to become a partner with Tim Kerr arose. Kerr said, "It was a great opportunity for the Ice Flyers' ownership group to have a local owner, as Greg was willing to move to Pensacola and immerse himself in the business of the organization and in Pensacola." Harris has been working directly with the media to help further the media relations of the team. He has also made a commitment to increase the visibility of the players, the organization and the Ice Flyers' brand through community goodwill and, with the help of the Ice Flyers' Booster Club, through different events in the Pensacola area.
Greg and the Harris family are pleased to be a part of the Pensacola Ice Flyers' family. They look to continue and expand the success of the team and are committed to the longevity of the Ice Flyers in Pensacola.
Chuck is originally from Mansfield, OH and is a true Buckeye fan at heart. This will be his third year with the Ice Flyers and his second in leading the organization as President. He is no rookie to Pensacola Sports after spending several seasons with the Ice Pilots after a tenure with the Pensacola Pelicans Baseball Team. Chuck spent 7 proud years in the US Navy as a Nuclear Power Electrician. He also performed over 160 boarding operations in the Persian Gulf in support of NATO sanctions during Desert Storm/Desert Shield. After his tour of duty he attended The Ohio State University studying Marketing and Business Management. Chuck brings 18 years of corporate sales, marketing and management experience with him to sports industry. He is committed to excellence and has a strong passion for what he does. He shares his passion for hockey and all sports with his beautiful wife Kim. Who both share in the honor of having a Hole in One. On the weekends you will find them both enjoying the waters of the Bayou in Navy Point on their boat or Jet Ski, so if you see them swing by and say Hi.
Willa came to Pensacola from Philadelphia in 2001. This is her third season with the Ice Flyers as Merchandise Coordinator. She spent the 2004-2005 season working with Tim Kerr's Ice Pilots as a Marketing and Sales representative. Willa has worked for a Screen Printing Business and The Make-A-Wish Foundation. The screen printing business gave her the experience she needs to develop great merchandise for the Ice Flyers and The Make-A-Wish Foundation gave her the experience she needs to put together the fundraisers that the Ice Flyers do to make a difference in the community we work and play in. She is very excited to be working with such a great team of people, players, fans and the SPHL. When she is not working Willa is volunteering for a number of different non-profits, she loves the beaches of Pensacola and spending time with her family.
Michael, Originally from Garden City Michigan, begins his second season as Head Equipment Manager for the Ice Flyers. He started his hockey experience as a volunteer for the Ice Pilots from 1996 until 2007. Michael spent 11 years in a hockey shop, working with the NHL, AHL, ECHL, IHL, UHL, SPHL and College Equipment managers. He built his experience learning from the members of those leagues. Michael is in charge of the daily maintenance, ordering and care of all player equipment and uniforms.
He has played in the local men's amateur hockey league since 1996, and has been President of the men's league for the last 7 years. This past season he was also the President of the NFHL youth League. Michael has lived in Pensacola since 1973. He is married to Marsha and they have two boys, Curtis (18) and Nicholas (16).
Tina begins her first season with the Ice Flyers’ as the Ticket and Group Sales Coordinator. She may look familiar to some of you , because she has spent the last several years working in the box office of the Pensacola Civic Center and brings a vast knowledge of Ticketmaster with her to the Ice Flyers Front Office. Tina was born and raised in Pensacola and is a graduate of Pensacola High and grew up playing softball in the Pensacola Bay area. Her husband Dale works for the Escambia County Road Department and they have three boys Mitchell, Michael and Matthew. During her off time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, while she continues to enjoy her passion for softball by coaching her boys in baseball, hopefully turning one of them into the next Derek Jeter.
Lacey is returning for a second year as Head Athletic Trainer. She is originally from Canton, NY. Lacey is employed by Select Physical Therapy, and outsourced as the Head Athletic Trainer for both the Ice Flyers and the Pelicans. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA and her Master's of Arts in Community Counseling from Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ. Lacey has six years of experience working D1, D2, and professional sports; this will be her third year in the SPHL. She is in charge of all medical concerns from prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation just to name a few.
When not working games and traveling with the teams, Lacey enjoys hanging out with friends and going to the beach. She takes the few weeks between seasons to return home to New York to visit her parents and brother as well as childhood friends.
